Twighlight XC is an extreme race that challenges your wit, strength and stamina. The raw track gives you the toe-curling best of single and daringly fast double tracks at Showka Dam in Ras Al Khaimah. It’s the most thrilling race which rounds up the 2022-23 season. The mass start race commences at 5 pm and continues as the sun sets over the mountains and into complete darkness as you complete the race by torchlight.
Ras Al Khaimah is one of the region’s most sought-after adventure destinations and record-breaking emirates. Twilight XC is no different and attracts people from across the United Arab Emirates. The formidable mountains give riders access to rare wadis, ancient ruins and trails, curious goats, timeworn singletrack paths, and formidable jagged peaks. Showka dam is the UAE’s oldest MTB event location with its adrenaline-pumping descents, lung-bursting climbs, and bone-shaking rocky steps.
Twighlight XC is a daring 5 kilometres course, and you are challenged to complete as many circuits as physically possible in 90 minutes. The course is rocky and slippery with shale, so you’ll need every ounce of determination and excellent fitness to consider competing in this intermediate to advanced-level course.

Terms and Conditions
- The race, overseen by the UAE Cycle Federation, is counted towards the overall series winner of the under-40s, 40-plus men and women and 14 to 18 years for the junior boys and girls heats. UAECF awards gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three and podium appearances for the top five of each category.
- There are separate categories for XC, Gravel and Electric-MTB.
- Points awarded according to the bike ridden.
- Emirates Road Cycling Club effectuate electronic timing.
- You must obtain a license to race from the UAE Cycle Federation to enter events during the 2022-23 season. You can purchase licenses from https://uaecf.ae/home.
- Upon receipt of your license, you can register for the Blue Tank Chaser on https://www.premieronline.com/.
- You will not be permitted to race unless you have a valid license.
