Jebel Jais Challenge

Hardcore cyclists are challenged to embark on a breath-taking (literally) ride to summit of Jebel Jais – the UAE’s highest peak – and return to the start, not once, but as many times as they can within an eight-hour window in this one-of-a-kind challenge.

The endurance adventure starts at the Bear Grylls Explorer Camp in the foothills of the Hajar Mountain range, with riders taking twists and turns through stunning rugged terrain on their journey to the peak, some 1,934 metres above sea level.

Taking it at their own pace, riders must complete the 35km lap as many times as possible, with the chance to refuel and recover with drinks and snacks at the top of Jebel Jais before descending to do it all again.

With the challenge presented by Oakley and Garmin, every lap completed earns riders an Oakley coin, which in an added incentive for riders, can be exchanged for Oakley store vouchers. For cyclists who reach the summit the most times, extra prizes are in store.
